It is electrically identical to the system in the airplane. On the hydraulic side, it is typically only driving one cylinder at a time. There are extra ball valves to isolate the tested item as well as pressure gauges to monitor high and low sides. This rig has been very helpful in finding leaking cylinders (even when brand new), a leaking dump valve and even an internal pump leak. When compared to the system in the airplane, the biggest difference is that five feet of aluminum tubing, three feet of hose and one cylinder do not have the same compliance as six cylinders and who knows how many feet of plumbing. Dynamic effects are therefore a little different.
