Rob,
I bought the 37 degree double lap flaring tool p/n 12-00210 from A C Spruce.
It is priced at $519.95. It is not quite as good as the old military
flaring tool which comes in its own O.D. green metal box. I can't find that
one anywhere or I would have chosen it.
The tool I did get from Spruce is nice. It's made by US Air Tool Co. and
their p/n is 04-256-F. It has a nice blow molded plastic case and includes
spacer blocks for the double lap operation first "push" as well as a tube
cutter and a nice deburring reamer. The tool mounts in your bench vise.
I have a hard time with "I couldn't afford the good tool" as one writer
said. Now, can you afford to go back and repair all those bad, leaking and
questionable flares? What is your Lancair worth? $500?!
