As I was reading the recent posts about hydraulics and the uncertainty of
whether the gear was down or not (apparently, there's only 3 green lights
to indicate this) it struck me that the pilot could be certain if only
the gear were visible.  Would it be possible to install a small solid state
camera in the wheel wells and display their condition on a MFD display?
I keep seeing the X10 camera popping up during web browsing (its like a
plague! X10.com advertises *waaaay* too much)  This is a fairly small device
and runs in the 2.4GHz spectrum.  I don't know if this actual camera is
possible, or RFI desirable, but the low cost indicates just how cheap
such CCD camera's really are.  If one were wired via coax, I don't think
there'd be much of an RFI problem.  Just a random thought from a kit
builder wanna be...  :)
