One solution is to fly inverted during daylight hours, thus blocking the sunlight. A better solution is to consider installing the Koger Sun Shade available from the Van's Aircraft Accessory Catalog. To wit: http://www.vansaircraft.com/cgi-bin/catalog.cgi?ident=995731491-192-696&browse=airframe&product=koger-shade or just go to the home page and search. The shade is 30 inches wide at the rear and 22 inches wide at the front. It is mounted on c-channel soft aluminum (can be shaped by hand) running down the top center of the canopy, held on with very good 2-sided tape. The soft reflective material is suspended on umbrella like soft aluminum rods inserted in pockets sewn in the material and travel on nylon T's running in the c-channel. The shade is stowed at the rear for full visibility, can be run forward to any position and is secured with a thumb screw that hold it in position in the c-channel. The shade is exceptional in flight and is useful when parked on a sunny day -- Useless, of course, you park west of the Cascades where sunshine is only a rumor.
