Took a look around the panel, and noted that the gear postition handle had drifted down about 1cm. When I pushed it back up, the hydraulic pump stopped. Let it go and the handle drifted down again over 5 min--pump came back on. Closer inspection of the handle showed that the whole drum was slightly loose (could be wiggled with the gear handle about 2mm side to side). Landed, took out the quadrant cover, and found that the allen-head bolt holding the gear handle drum had loosened over the 4yrs and 505 hrs of flight on the plane. Re-tightened the bolt with more locktite, and flew away--no problems since. Would suggest this item be added to your careful annual condition inspections. Douglas W.
