I read in the Mil Specs that all tubing should be annealed after working. I did such an exercise on all my aluminum lines, both fuel and hydraulic. The method is to use an acetyline torch. Adjust the torch for a sooty smoke flame, cover the tubing with soot. This sets the stage for annealing. Then adjust the torch for a mild low temperature flame and smoothly work the flame over the tubing with just enough heat and time to clear up the soot on the tubing. You must be careful not to stay too long in a single spot else half your tubing will suddenly drop to the floor and splatter. It is not necessary to get every last bit of soot burned off. The objective here is to relieve stress. You only need to work the areas that were bent and/or flaired. It will take practice and you may melt a couple lines. I did but I can truthfully say that all internal stresses and work hardened related problems have been eliminated.
