Jim,
Who at the factory recommended -.5 degree incidence? We're about to
mount my stab and I called Lancair today and talked to both Mark and Orin,
neither of whom were aware of such a recommendation. Orin said anywhere
between 0 and -.5 would probably be OK. He asked Lance, who said his only
thought would be that the negative incidence would help at approach speed,
but wasn't necessary for cruise. I may just split the difference and go
with -.25. To counter heavier engines, I have heard that a bigger elevator
trim tab takes care of the nose heaviness at approach speeds.
