With the IO-550 engine, however, which most builders are installing, the plane tends to be nose-heavy. In my last conversations with the factory, I think they are recommending a slightly negative incidence angle for the HStab, say about -0.5 degrees, to counter the nose-heaviness. This should help a bit with getting the nose trimmed up on approach. What you will probably find, however, is that the pre-built saddle for the HStab does not put the incidence right. You'll have to slide the HStab back and forth until you find just the right incidence angle, then modify the saddle as needed for a good fit. Also, you need to spend some time making a good jig for the HStab in order to get the incidence angle measurement accurate.
