Another possibility as to why Tony lost fuel is the fuel crossover tube. Apparently, fuel can drain out of the main fuel bay, into the leading edge of the wing, leading to fuel starvation. There is a mandatory service bulletin (SB048-0399) to plug this tube. But this leads to another concern. There will be a lot of un-useable fuel in the leading edge of the wing from BL25.5 to BL56 where the fuel passes through the spar (see figure 6F2 page 6-38). I don t like carrying this much un-useable fuel. Perhaps the fuel and vent holes in the BL52 rib should be plugged (if you haven t closed your wing). At the very least a fuel drain plug should be installed near the BL25.5 rib forward of the spar.
