I found this to be so interesting that I did a little research and what did I find...if you check out www.endevoursystems.net you will see that they are LANCAIR PROFESSIONAL BUILDERS! Surprise....Surprise! For the record the internet domain is owned by: Watrich, Calvin Endevour Systems Inc. 352 Bethel Road RR #1 Omemee, Ontario K0L 2W0 Canada 705-799-7274 If you haven't seen their site, they are the guys who claim to have built an autoland flight control system for the Lancair IVP. Now I cannot comment about this autoland system because I haven't seen one of their planes fly...but then again, I haven't seen a pig fly either. What I HAVE seen is the wreckage of N424E which was in fact completed by John Kerner. What I also can attest to is that this mysterous fellow named "Bill" at Endevous Systems had nothing to do with N424E whatsoever and hence has no business commenting on things which he has not seen....unless of course "Bill" is really an alias and alter ego for Mr. Kerner ??? To clarify, the aircraft which crashed was started by Patrick O'Brien and completed by John Kerner. At the time Kerner took over the project the wings were NOT closed out and Mr. Kerner has admitted this to several third parties. Additionally, the lower skins were installed and the wings finished by Mr. Kerner. Finally Mr. Kerner was specifically hired subsequent to first flight to determine why the wings he finished were not holding the specified 40 gal and he specifically represented that he had fixed this problem. In fact, documentation exists from Tony Durizzi in the form of a fuel receipt that the right wing DID hold 39.6 gal following the repair. However as we all know, the fact that fuel was in the wing does not mean that it could be utilized if the vent was not built in as per the factory specifications. So I suppose the good fellows at Endevour Systems have some reasonable explanation for their defense of Mr. Kerner. If you check out the photo page on their site, you will see they operate out of what appears to be an inflatable hanger erected on a tennis court (seriously!). No doubt all the hot air they have been spouting here on the list helps keep that hanger inflated and givens them something to do in between doubles sets.
