Earlier this year, Hamid, myself and our kids built a couple of fighting
robots to compete in Battlebots. For first time competitors we did very
well. When the producers of the show learned that our crew had flown to the
contest in a Lancair IV they became very interested and ended up flying a
film crew to North Idaho. We prepared for the interview by polishing up the
robots and preparing some demonstrations but when they arrived they didn't
even look at the Bots but went straight for the airplane. We spent most of
the next 6 hours talking about the plane. Go figure.

Why am I telling you all this? Well, Battlebots is Comedy Centrals #2 rated
show and the new season (3.0) starts July 10th at 22:00 eastern time. Based
on the schedule for the first 4 shows, at least one of our robots, T-Wrex
and Omega-13, will make appearances on July 17th and July 31st. I don't know
when the piece featuring my IV-P will air but it should be fun to see a
Lancair on a nationally televised program.

I have always advocated that owning one of these planed has collateral and
unforeseeable benefits. I call it my "Flying Resume".
