Rick (and other interested listers),
I have been doing quite a bit of flying on my 360 the last few weeks - and
having a blast! The performance figures are still pretty bad, but I haven't
done anything lately to try and improve upon them. For now I am flying and
enjoying, maybe later in the summer I will work on getting more speed.
The bugs are mostly fixed - I am still working on getting proper fuel flow
readings and my com 1 is very weak. But the plane flies VERY nicely and
climbs well. I flew from Charlotte NC to Charleston, SC last week - it was
great. At 26" 2400 RPM at 6,500 feet I see 185 KTAS (lower = slower, higher
= faster). It was hot and muggy down low, but fairly comfy at 6,500. The
autopilot, Garmins and Sandel are all working together nicely. The plane
climbs very well, even though it is a pig. Loaded with fuel, me, my
girlfriend and bags we weigh in about 1925 lbs. I don't have a problem
climbing at more than 1,000 feet per minute and 130 KIAS. I keep the MP at
about 29" and RPM at about 2500. Oil temps and CHT's are great. Cruise is
about 365 on the CHT, 195 on oil, and 1530 on TIT. Climb oil temp stays
under 215 and CHT under 410.
So overall I am happy, but still a few bugs to work out and I hope to
eventually find a lot more speed.
Matt
