I'll pass on some advice from Brent Regan that has served me well on this 
subject: Solder joints are better, cheaper and lighter than any electrical 
connector ever made. Leave a service loop and solder the joints when you can. 
If you need to use a connector, install the best one you can 
afford--especially for the signal and low power circuits like your trim 
system. 

You didn't say what model Lancair you were building, but the rudder on the 
Lancair IV is probably one area that justifies a connector. The thing is 
large and clumsy to handle, and a two person installation task, even with 
connectors. We bought Switchcraft EN3 mini-weather tight connectors (page 137 
in the current Mouser catalogue) for this joint. Haven't flown yet, so don't 
know how well they will work in flight, but these are high-quality, compact 
and well sealed connectors. Appear to be ideal for this application. They are 
available in "in-line" or cord configuration or with one side as a "panel 
mount," solder pins only, no crimp type available.
