At higher AOAs such as in the traffic pattern the oil temp would soar to the red line. After some testing with the output air from a vacuum cleaner and the NACA scoop tuffed, I discovered that the air would enter the NACA scoop and do a 180= degree turn and exit the NACA scoop. = The air decided that an in and out routing was easier than the in, sharp turn, through the tube, oil cooler and exit. = Since the transition between the NACA scoop and the SCAT tube that delivered air to the oil cooler was a sharp 90 degree angle, I taped a temporary piece of cardboard forming a curved transition at the back of t= he NACA scoop. To my delight, a test flight confirmed, problem solved. = Jim Frantz = >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> LML website: http://www.olsusa.com/mkaye/maillist.html LML Builders' Bookstore: http://www.buildersbooks.com/lancair Please send your photos and drawings to marvkaye@olsusa.com. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
