It seems that if you have the ability to disconnect the wires from the light housings within the rudder why couldn't you just leave the wires intact at the stab spar and pull them out of your conduit if the need to remove the rudder ever arises.  When you reinstall the rudder you just pull them back through the conduit and re-terminate them at the housings.  Upon removeal you'd use the wires to pull a string through the conduit that you could then use as the fish-line to restore them when you put it back together.  At least then you wouldn't have to deal with plugs or inline splices.  Just my $0.02.
