When you reinstall the rudder you just pull them back through the conduit and re-terminate them at the housings. Upon removeal you'd use the wires to pull a string through the conduit that you could then use as the fish-line to restore them when you put it back together. At least then you wouldn't have to deal with plugs or inline splices.
