I have been listening to the discussion regarding stab incidence and a
thought crossed my mind. Would it be possible to cure the problem with the
elevator LE by adding a small leading edge extension to the stab?
The idea would be to place the LEX so that it had perhaps 3 degrees of
positive incidence relative to the stab. This would tend to lift the tail,
relieving the need to deflect the elevator down to achieve the same effect.
Are there any aeronautical engineers out there who could give an educated
appraisal of the idea? I certainly do not want to remove my stab and remount
it.
