I set the mixture full rich, throttle full open and run the fuel pump until the fuel flow needle moves. This insures that I have fuel in the line. Then I turn the fuel pump off and pull the mixture to idle cut-off. Crank the engine and when started close the throttle and advance the mixture. Works great.
