Cold starting is no problem. Hot starting can be--especially in hot weather. Most problems occur in the 15-60 minute time range after shut down (such as fuel stop on cross country flight). I cool the fuel system with the fuel pump before attempting a hot start but don't know what this really does. Charlie Kohler told me about it. It does make a difference. I know I had a lot more trouble before adapting this procedure than after. Does any one have any other ideas. How about you, Charlie, anything new? I am interested in hearing any and all starting techniques that you guys use in this situation. I have my own and have not gotten stuck anywhere yet but sometimes I wonder if it is really going to start. Explaining to my passengers that this is just the nature of the machine is getting a little stale. Any input would be appreciated.
