   Turn the TV on and flip around and just watch the
commercials.  Let me know if anyone finds a car
company that screams out "ALL PURCHASED SUBJECT TO
BLAH BLAH BLAH" and then whispers at the end, "blowout
extravaganza..."  Or a medicine commercial that
screams out, "SOME SIDE EFFECTS INCLUDE DROWSINESS,
STUFFY HEAD, CHILD BORN WITH HEAD OF GOLDEN
RETRIEVER..."  and then whispers, "heals your broken
leg instantly..."  
   Companies promote the best attributes of their
products, and they do it to make money, of all things.
 People have no right to accuse a company of false
claims when they don't bother to read the fine print. 
Upon review of the faqs on the site, the claim is
actually "about 700-1000" hours for the Legacy.  The
news release was what said it can be built in 500
hours.  The 700-1000 hour estimate is conservative. 
And it CAN be done in 500.  Can most people do it in
500?  Nope.  But should they be allowed to promote the
500 hour number if they want to?  You better believe
it!  We of all people should want them to sell more
kits.  Stay in business for goodness sake!  If I were
them I'd do exactly what they're doing now.  Promote
the 500 number, and in fine print put 700-1000 so I
can say, "I told you so." to anyone who complains. 
Every company in the world does it.  Why shouldn't
Lancair?
