I guess that's the Canadian equivalent to
signing ours off after the 40 hour test period is complete.
Yeah probably,
but I was wondering, do you just complete the time then sign off on a form that
you've completed it, or do you have to submit your log books for inspection to
the FAA (along with a GW climb test report?) and get them to sign off? ( I hate
bureaucracy)
Last I recall, you were finishing up
your pilots license as well. Is that all done now
too?
Uuuhh.. no not
quite. My airplane is actually more legal than I am right now. I need to go do a
flight test. Unfortunately most DFTE's (designated flight test examiners) won't
do a flight test in a "home built" (said with much disdain) airplane and after
all of this I'm sure not going to rent no damn spam can for a few hours to get
comfortable with it then do a test (I can't afford it either). My buddy's old
boss up in Northern Alberta (Fort McMurray) is a DFTE and has long
ago stated that he would love to do my flight test as he loves experimental
airplanes and really likes the rotary idea. So rather than try to convince a
local DFTE to do it I'd rather just go on a cross-country trip and get tested by
someone who really wants to do it. Also, my buddy has been dating a cute air
traffic controller that lives in Fort McMurray so he really wants to head up
there again soon as his regular flight routes seldom take him up there :-).
Unfortunately until my test restrictions were lifted I was unable to fly up
there. And I'm now restricted for the next few weeks for paternal reasons. So
until then I continue to fly as a student.
Are you planning to fly to
Shady Bend in October?
I'd sure like to, but it's unlikely
as I have to attend tech school until Oct 22, then even though it will be too
late to go work as a guide, I'll still need to get my own moose for the freezer
as I now have the added responsibility of providing meat for the family... (ok,
ok, I just want to go hunting and drink a few
beers:-)
Thanks to everyone
who sent their congrats

arrive)
