They hope to create an organization that will promote safe use of alternate technology and represent members interest with other parties (such as insurance companies). I'm not much of a joiner, but in so much as I have bitched about the EAA not giving a rat's ass about the true experimenter, I was delighted to sign on as a potential member. Give it a look, it may be the best approach given the EAA is not so inclinded to look after our interest.
