Yes, Todd, I read it with some dismay as well.
If I had spent $28,000 for a FWF package and had those kind of problems I
probably would not have advertised it {:>). It was unclear about the
performance he was getting, but it was apparently no where near as good as
some of the home rolled installation - at least not yet.. Must say doesn't
do much for PowerSport selling many more than the few they have sold so far.
I mean we are now getting RV builders who are flying first time without
cooling problems for example.
Dave you need to write up an article for Rvator!!.
I recall their president Ray Richardson so proudly proclaiming they had PhDs
on their staff - clearly implying that his staff were much better qualified
to decide what was best in rotary set up than us poor sods. But, based on
some of their design decisions and their basis for them - I think they have
done remarkably poorly in the design department. Personal opinion of
course. They were certainly not inclined to listen to any advice of those
of us who had gone before.
I had told Ray personally that I though he should have concentrated on
getting a lower priced installation as well as selling components such gear
box, PP rotor housing etc. But, he blew me off. I know understand that is
exactly what they are considering doing. I know they are now selling the
gear box.
Well, hopefully my next article for RVator will be the results of changing
to the 2.85 and monster prop - if you guys will stop bribing Tracy to delay
shipping my gear box back {:>)
