I ditto John's comments.  I used the Permatex Ultra-Gray RTV on the mounting
plate, both sides, and I also have a very small, but annoying oil leak.  No
real volume of oil, but enough to drip down the radiator in 2 spots at some
time.  Maybe 1/2 tablespoon of oil in 6 hours.

When you do the pan gasket job you may help avoid further leaks by using
a small punch to lightly stipple both mating surfaces on about 1/2"
centers in a random pattern. This keeps the gasket and/or RTV from
"walking" later on and causing those extremely annoying seepages.
