I like that Idea too.  Let me know if it works.  You will have to seal the oil passages.
 
Of course you will still have some significant back pressure in the turbine housing, but it will be acting as a very robust muffler.

John, just get the guts out of the turbo and fly NA. You have the high compression rotors.
