Al,
I have heard two different theories on oil cooer/filter locations. Some
propose going through the cooler first, to make sure nothing in the cooler comes
into the engine, and others (you included) advocate filtering before the cooler.
I am confused -- Tracy/Ed, what did you do? Others?

could you forget where such a beautiful piece of work came from?
It is not an oil filter adapter, it is a
filter bypass block; which means that it replaces the filter attachment block
on the engine so you came put an adapter and larger filter somewhere upstream.
It is good to put the filter upstream from the cooler to reduce possible sludge
buildup in the cooler (assuming we should be so lucky to fly our planes long
enough for this to happen). I got a remote dual filter mount from Racing
Beat, but Earl?s sells the same thing. It comes in either dual or
single filter.
