If I can't market this thing for at least 40% less than any equivalent monitor, I would not bother to build it. 

 

That more or less answers the "how much" question, which leaves us with "when"?  I was planning to research, and buy an engine monitor in the next month or so, though I probably won't need it for 2-3 months.  If there's any chance that yours will be ready in that timeframe, I'll wait for it. 

 

I know it's probably a tough question to answer, but can you give any estimate of when it would be available, if of course you even build it?

I've already mentally commited to finishing this thing now but it will still be 4 months before its passed all testing and ready to ship.  Wish I had started it sooner.
