Finn; The Marcotte uses a MIT. 70781, permanate magnet starter, which
weighs 7.7 #, it is a direct drive. Cost was $l82 at local starter repair
shop. If you can use this starter it will save 0.7#'s. You would have to
look at it to see if it would work. The solenoid is offset 45 degrees to
the left, looking a starter drive gear, which is typical of Mazda manual
starters. JohnD
