I had thought it was my imagination, but my exhaust which had been quieted (relatively speaking) by the inserts, had recently seemed to be getting louder. Perhaps as a result of the insert's deterioration. I've been thinking about making up an insert out of stainless steel with a couple of more disks, would appear to be fairly simple to do as stainless plate is fairly easy to cut and punch with the right tools. But, alas, I do not weld. I'm about to depart on a 2000 mile round trip to Louisiana and then on to Florida for a flyin in Jan. I'll be leaving on the 3rd of Janurary and returning around the 14th. Then I will take my exhaust system apart and check on the inserts. I'll let you know the results.
