Hi Todd,
I think Bob is up Oskosh way,
but I don't really know. But, That is a good suggestion regardless of
where he resides. I just sent Bob an e mail detailing what we have been
attempting to do with our "Best Practices" list, Dave's roster of Rotary
Flyers/Projects, Fly Rotary Web page, etc. I asked him if he knew of
an agent that might be interested in learning more about the rotary engine
conversion and associated risk. I suggest that an knowledgeable agent who
truly had a feel for the risk could be our best advocate with the insurance
firms and that one who was successful in getting our flyers insurance would
undoubtedly get a lot of rotary business.$$$
I will check with Tracy Crook and see
if he has any problem inviting Bob to the Rotary Round up ( I am certain Tracy
would extend an invitation, but would want to check with him). My
impression is Bob would be valuable in getting us together with one or two
insurance agents that might be willing to take a bit more risk in return for a
considerable share of our market.

I don't think anyone is going to
push it unless its one of us. I would volunteer to collect the data and
compile it (old retired folks need something to do {:>)). But, first,
I would like to see if I can get Bob Macky to at least get from the insurance
companies a set of the data they are interested in. I am certain
flying hours of pilot and plane is one datum, but there could be other such as
are your motor mounts professionally make, dual fuel pumps, etc.
Hi Ed;
How about extending an invitation to Bob to go down to
the Rotary Round-up this fall? You could even offer to fly him down in your
plane if he is conveniently close. That would be an excellent opportunity to
show him a variety of installations demonstrating what we feel to be the
superb qualities of the rotary. He sounds like a reasonable guy and it would
be very beneficial to have an insurance guy on our team.
