I don't think anyone is going to push it unless its
one of us. I would volunteer to collect the data and compile it (old
retired folks need something to do {:>)). But, first, I would like to
see if I can get Bob Macky to at least get from the insurance companies a
set of the data they are interested in. I am certain flying hours of pilot
and plane is one datum, but there could be other such as are your motor mounts
professionally make, dual fuel pumps, etc.
I'll fire off an e mail to Bob and see if he would
perhaps put me in touch with some insurance types to see what type data would be
meaningful to them.
I like you idea of pointing out the potential
market of rotary flyers

Attached, is a series
of e mails I exchanged with Bob Mack of the EAA staff, who appears to have a
good understanding of the Insurance problem. While he does not at this
time offer any pancreatic solution, he does offer some suggestions and does
indicate it is not impossible to find insurance.

Nice
correspondence Ed. What do you think it would take to move this along
further? What if we put together a list of folks that are flying, with
the number of safe hours. A list of the many, many builders who are
nearing completion would demonstrate the potential customer base that an
insurance company could expect. Mind you, I'm not volunteering to put
together this list :-)
Cheers,
