Until a couple of days ago I thought the accepted practice for engine mounting was to use a plate sandwiched between the engine and the oil pan. However, then a posting a few days back referencing Jerry Hey's mounts. He would appear to use an end housing mounting plate. Is there a major benefit to taking one mounting approach over another?
