I'm wondering if I should do the same. But, the way I was thinking was....the mount plate basically gives the sump increased capacity. Having increased capacity is a good thing. More oil in the "cooling pool" in the sump. My pickup can reach as much oil as it could stock, since I've added 1/4 inch to the level. Since I have the extra oil, it would be nice to reach it if I run that low, but if I run THAT low I have serious problems somewhere. Make any sense?
