Unfortunately, since I have less than ¼ inch clearance to the firewall I really don’t think there will be any way to get the impeller off without removing the engine.  Ahg.

Hi again.  In thinking about this some more, don't discount the possibility of getting the pump off without pulling the engine.  I bet you can do it.  Removing the pulley will buy a little room to maneuver.  Remember, you don't have to pull the pump straight back.  The impeller is much smaller than the outside dimensions of the pump flange.  You should be able to cock the pump one way or another to get it free.  At worst, maybe you would only have to remove the mount bolts, and move the engine a half inch or so forward, perhaps without having to disconnect much.
