My temp & pressure sensors are under the filter pad on a 04 renesis, I would suggest that unless you are very confident on your installation, to start with extra temp & pressure sensors at the oil exit from front cover also. could save much frustration diagnosing if you end up with a similar issue where my original oil cooler(from 20b mazda) and oil lines/fittings could not flow *all* the oil at high rpm. I got enough oil flow to get 80 psi of cool oil at the filter pad sensors but not enough to cool all the oil in the system, excess oil bypassed back to sump at the oilpump safety valve which (I think from memory) is set @125psi, I had no pressure & temp sensors there to figure it out so the oil cooler ended up being the last to be "fixed" rather than the first. I believe the pump safety relief should only open in rare case of oil cooler blockage to save the pump or cooler from damage, the main valve should do all the pressure regulating in normal ops. so need to look for a low pressure drop across your oil cooler & hoses first, then start tackling temps if it is an issue. cheers Andrew On Sat, 2 Sept 2023 at 06:02, DOUGLAS LOMHEIM dlomheim@aol.com < flyrotary@lancaironline.net> wrote: > I need to decide on the location to install my oil temp.
