Thanks for the inputs.  I like the idea of a flat plate and minimizing leak possibility.

Electric pump is an interesting idea to control the cooling rate, but I think for now I will try and use what I have.

Thanks Andrew.

Steve, I have no experience with the mazda pump, at the time when I looked at it, it just didnt seem a good impellor design. in hindsight I think they're fine as I have not heard of failures. I chose Re-medy over Electric. Next time I'd use EWP just so I could control coolant flow to just what is needed.

Hi Andrew

You were right. I mistakenly called my outlet the inlet.
The restrictor is in the outlet where the thermostat has been removed and flow much less restrictive than the OEM thermostat path.
And yes a smaller outlet would have achieved the same thing I suppose while reducing weight.

Did you put the Re-medy pump in from the beginning? Would be interested in a comparison of the pumps if anyone has that experience.

I thought rightly or wrongly that the restrictor provides a slightly higher pressure at the inlet of the pump and so reducing cavitation.
