Maybe one of the rotary performance shops will find a way to splice a pair of E-shafts & make a center housing. ;-) It's pretty hard to make a hybrid a/c make sense, unless you're going to something like distributed power/props, to get VSTOL/STOL performance. The extra weight of the generator and the efficiency losses going through two energy conversions hurts. Since an a/c spends most of its time in a relatively narrow range of power settings, the engine should get optimized for single point operation similar to the series hybrid generator engine. We don't have the constant power changes that make parallel hybrid setups work well for cars.
