As to hybrid aircraft, the Equator was to use a diesel rotary. Covid came and though it’s flown on just electric, not much has happen since about 2018.

When I was reading the article, I was wondering if the entire power package could be pulled out of a junk yard in the near future, and then used to create a hybrid a/c?  Looks like they’re limiting rpm to only 4700 (?), so a bit more power might be possible if spinning it faster?
