Le Roux, Again some interesting comparisons, The spline that Tracy used on the input shaft is 30 teeth and a dia of just under an inch (23.8mm), so the Ross spline is bigger dia. by a substantial amount. Having said that, the Tracy spline is around 1.75 inches long which appears to be much longer than the clutch center that Ross used. So at the end of the day, both the same strength wise. Then looking at your photo of the Ross input shaft, just where does the Ross input shaft run the oil seal for the redrive? It would appear to be at the bottom of the leading helicut gear?? Seems Ross had the ability to cut the gears on the input shaft, whereas tracy used the stock gear from the Ford box. This is a cheaper option. Cutting and tempering gears is not cheap. Neil. The input shaft have 26 spines with diameter at splines of 1.560 inch Phots of the input shaft: The propellor shaft dimensions will i send tomorrow, as i don`t have a press that are strong enough, for the locking pins on the shaft Le Roux, Just wondering how far you have gotten into the redrive. Seems the drive is used by cutting down a clutch plate? I assume therefore that the input shaft has a spline to fit the clutch plate spline and not the fine multi spline that Tracy uses? Do you have any measurements as to the prop shaft -- photos? Neil.
