Hi there Neil
I hadn’t been aware of the known fault in the belt.
I am absolutely with you in relation to the single point of failure. The ship has so many of them.
The CAS for me became more sensitive for the reasons mentioned, but also through my own experience.
When I received my 4 port Renesis engine, the CAS was broken off and hanging by the harness.
For a moment I considered fixing/gluing it back together before realising the insanity of that thought to save a few hundred dollars.
In my book the CAS and its wiring are a single point of failure with substantive risk from breakage.
Perhaps low risk, but huge consequences, so for me a focus point of risk reduction eg. Stainless cable embedded in CAS harness.
Cheers
Steve Izett
