I'm probably overthinking it, but just to be sure all bases are covered...

Aren't there some wiring differences between the EC2 & EC3? Are you using a wiring adapter when you switch controllers?

Hi Finn

Both A & B chips erased, verified blank, reprogrammed (EC3CL8.HEX 17/06/2020), verified and checked program and config memory.
All looks right.
So after flying tomorrow on the EC2, I’ll see about swapping in the EC3 and see if she runs!
I’ll let you know how we go.

Thanks Finn

Hi Finn

ok. Now I recall you mentioning this recently but misunderstood.
Sorry I haven’t read all your emails carefully enough having done the work with tracy.

Good news for this EC3, that being the case.
I’ll see if I have enough time tonight to reprogram the chips as I’m headed down tomorrow and could test the new code.

I tried to pick up some 2.7v zeners today, but they only had 3.3v in single units and 2.7v by the 1000!

So the full wave clipping circuit you supplied should clip the CAS signal to Zener voltage + forward volt drop of the other zener.
2.7+~0.7 = 3.4v. If I use the 3.3v it would clip the signal at 3.3+~0.7=4v. My analog amp knowledge is woefully lacking these days
but I thought this extra 0.6v would be fine for Tracy’s conditioning circuits.
Appreciate any analog insights you can offer re those signal conditioning amplifier/buffers?

Cheers

Steve,

It will NOT run programmed for Renesis and LS2 coils unless you reprogram the chips using the source code I uploaded on the 17th of June:

"Here it is:

It's EC3closedloop.zip."

Hi Finn

Sorry, I misunderstood. Too many things on my mind at work at present.

When I get to the EC3 mods I’ll:
a. Test the EC3 with new clamped CAS input. If no change and it still runs like a dog on two legs  -
b. I’ll reprogram the chips with your hex code and retest.

On another note:
Still trying to decide on whether to pay to have my 4 blue secondary injectors cleaned and tested or
buy new injectors, New ones are cheaper on eBay but are they knock offs that I shouldn’t trust?
Cleaning is $40 each. New ones are $20 each!

Oh, you already reprogrammed them with the fixed code I uploaded?

Thanks Finn.

I’ll add the 2 zeners to the EC3 and test it.
I thought the reprogramming of the chips was right.
MPLABS reported them to be good.

Thanks Finn. Did you previously give us a the circuit? Do you have a sketch of it?
I’ll mod the EC3 and see if that is the problem.
