But did go smooth. Third run today couldn't get it to run smooth (didn't try hard). When does shift from rough to smooth, RPM goes up and get a more continuous sound. When rough it's almost as if it doesn't fire half the time, yet mixture monitor shows close to ideal. Weird! So still a mystery. Stuck seal? Air in fuel? I have a returnless system. Regulator just after fuel pumps, returning directly to tank. 3/8" alum tube 3' to firewall, then a 3/8" EFI hose to a Standard filter sitting on top of engine and from there 5/16" EFI hose to Tee to primary and secondary fuel rails. Pressure sender at end of secondary fuel rail (where the damper normally sits). After the first run where I got up to operating temps, I could hear fuel boil after shutdown. Tracy is also using a returnless system in his RV-8, so it can be made to work. However, I may need to move the fuel filter into the fuselage so it doesn't get heated by the engine. Of course if the prop was on it would cool some.
