Pretty sure the EM3 requires injector pulse input for tach and fuel flow.
See the pinout/in instructions:
TB4-3       TACH & FUEL FLOW SENSE  FUEL INJECTOR 1 LEAD ON EC3 & FUEL INJECTOR
The previous pin is for engines without an EC2/3 for their Tach.
