Todd,
Just the info I need. Apparently the Hitachi 18 has an Inconel hot wheel as standard, so I am now back to my cheap RX7 turbo!! Yay. As you would realise I am rather economical (tight). So Todd just how big do I have to port the wastegate to?? Now to finally proceed.
Water pump .. I have already proceeded to replace the stock RX8 water pump as to fit the turbo means that all the usual plumbing just no longer fits without IO have a bulge out the side of the cowling --- more fibreglass, time and money—I did say I was tight ? This means I had to alter the front cover like a 13B to get all plumbing in and out the front to miss the proposed turbo. Craig Davies has a few models, so just checked what you had. Thanks for the info. I also noted the advice from Paul, which I also believed at the time.

Yup, just the stock wheel. the turbo is an Hitachi 18S-2S. I still think you should take LeRoux up on his offer of that turbo. You could either modify the turbo manifold or use it to model a custom made manifold. Either way would likely be easier than trying to fit an aftermarket turbo. There was not a stock Renesis turbo so you're not gonna find anything easier.
Todd Bartrim (rebuilding a water pump right now, but it's a well water pump)
Todd,
Are you running the standard hot section turbine wheel? Do you have the hitachi RX7 turbo? Also what model water pump did you use??

Neil.
