Same here.

I've been thinking about adding a spare throttle body on the other end of the plenum. Extra weight and complexity (additional throttle handle and cable), but would get you home using the hot air from within the cowling.

My installation appears to have the throttle body positioned similarly, and fed directly (about a 4" straight shot) from the left side air inlet on the RV7 cowl. My biggest concern is ingesting a bird. As built, there's no alternate air available. I worry more about that than a backfire.

Only think I would think of is a backfire or transient causing a pressure that plenum couldn’t handle? Maybe put a blow off valve somewhere on it?

Completed the intake manifold for my 13B "plugs up" mount.
Adjustable for the best performance (18 - 24 inch) then can be locked by silicone 50 mm hose
Next step to place the 4 injectors on the 44 mm intake runners.
