Bill,

The Honeywell Switch select filters are not working. Go to their site and search on these part numbers. Spec sheets are available. Both NT and TL “standard” series switches appear to use silver cadmium. Not sure if that’s a good thing or if better contact material is available.

Quick Connect Options:

32NT91-3    2 position DPDT-

32NT91-1    3 position DPDT – center position is off. I use these but had to add a guard above the switches to keep from turning them off in flight. I mounted my injector switches directly below the EFIS knobs.

NT series can be purchased for $20.00

More expensive Milspec  switches.

2TL91-3   2 position DPDT

2TL91-7   3 position DPDT – center position is off

Bobby

Dennis,

I discovered today that my secondary injector disable switch was bad.  Flipping the switch gave no continuity either way.  After flipping it back and forth several times, it began to make a high resistance contact.  I guess the movement caused the contacts to clean off a little.

I am using the Carling S700 series switch espoused by Bob Nuckolls and sold by B & C.  This was a 2-3 switch that is double pole and is on-on.  These switches are pretty inexpensive…$7.50 each.  I was getting ready to  order a couple more switches and got to thinking about it.

The injectors pull pretty high amps I think pretty close to the switch capacity.  Does anyone know how many amps the injectors pull?

Is there a switch with pretty high capacity that is on-on with push tabs that I could substitute?

Bobby suggested some Honeywell switches but they are not on-on and don’t accept the push tabs.

What type of switch are you using to disable the primary and secondary injectors?  I was using  "rocker" switches and I found they failed to make good contact - failed  "open".  This would turn off the one set of injectors but not tell the computer to double the on time of the other injectors.  I replaced all my switches  rocker switches with "snapping" toggle switches.

I want to thank Steven Boese, Bobby Hughes and Mark Steitle for all their help in diagnosing this problem.

I never could make the switch fail during ground run testing!

Dennis H.
