The PSRU is from HIRTH, which they developed for their own line of
two stroke engines. It is rated up to 140hp and has a large range of ratios
available. I picked a 3.3:1 . I have now about 50hrs of runtime on the test
stand and AC and never did more than putting oil in. Assembly and disassembly
about 25 times on the test stand PSRU and there has never been any oil leak. The
down side is, like with Rotax, you have to take the PSRU appart to remove it
from the engine.
Input and output of the PSRU are with a tapered shaft, which is way better
than a spline, as Rotax has it.

Richard,
I quickly looked thru
your website below and I didn’t see the PSRU mentioned. What can you tell
us about it?
