Thomas, Do you know which shop built it? I wonder
about the internals of the engine. Are the rotors low compression to accommodate
the turbo, etc. I would like to talk to them. Bill

sale
Bill: The 20B came out of a Lancair ES. The issues were
overheating problems and the owner was very afraid of it. I believe it was
flown only a few hours. something like 7 hrs on the engine. if memory serves.
Less then that in the air. They just never got it sorted out. The Turbo was a
challenge for sure and the heat it generated. Mark Steitles 20B is NA and seems
to work great in his ES. However Tom Parks has had similar heat related
problems with his 20B as Well. In your Legacy NA 20B would be a huge improvement
over a two rotor.Heat issues would be much reduced. The shop that built this
engine is a good one. Hope this helps

Mark,
What kind of Lancair? This will be a very close fit if I try and put it
in
my Legacy.

I have corresponded with the gentleman selling the engine. Was thinking
about marrying up the 20B with the Barracuda that is also listed for sale on
Barnstormers. Almost 100% decided against it though.
Although I havent ruled out just buying it to put into my Glasair (whenever
that is done...) but I dont need the extra weight of a 3rd rotor and Turbo.

NC for the previous owner.
He could not sell his Lancair with the rotary in it, so removed it for a
lycoming to facilitate selling.
I bought it for him with big plans and never touched it - kept covered in my
garage.
Lot of custom work as can be seen.
I remember less than 100hrs on the Lancair.
No known issues."
