Sounds like he bought it from the guy that took it out of the Lancair because he couldn't sell it with the non-standard engine. I asked some questions and he looked at this list and answered some other questions too. I don't need an engine, but I will someday, so I decided to look into it. Here is what he said: Info as requested to the best of my knowledge for some of it - as reported to me by the previous owner. Can you clarify if you are selling the whole package - Turbo, RWS redrive, prop, etc? All you see in the attached pictures will go with the engine including accessories. I have had several inquiries to sell the prop seperately, but am flexible. What plane was it on? - It was on a Lancair ES, not sure of the specific one, not mine. Why did they remove the engine? - Was told the engine was removed because he could not sell the plane with the non-standard motor on it - reasonable explanation. I think he either replaced it with a lycoming or sold it without one. Was the engine rebuilt? - Yes, by a reputable shop in NC, not sure which one. I was told it was not radically ported. Has it flown and for how long? - Yes, I was told it flew for less than 100hrs or so. What kind and size of turbo is it? - I dont know the specifics of the turbo - can look for serial numbers for you. I dont see a radiator or intercooler are those included? - Cooling systems were not provided with the engine. The engine was supposed to ship "as running" and removed from the Lancair, but it arrived with the cooling systems cut out. Is there an engine controller? No, same situation as the cooling systems...........not provided. Which PSRU is that? - The PSRU has a 30B marking - indicating that it is a B drive with 2.176:1 ratio, left hand prop drive. How long has the engine sat since it was flying? - It was removed from the Lancair in 4/2011 and has been in my garage since. How was the engine stored (e.g. was it filled with ATI fluid or any other)? - Yes with ATI fluid - turns through freely. And the IVO Magnum prop, can you tell me how many blades, quick ground adjustable or in-flight adjustable, and in what condition? - Three blades ground adjustable, perfect condition. I was hoping to get it running and installed, but lacked the expertise to design my own cooling systems, then sold my projecct RV8, now need to sell the rotary. I did not plan to rebuild the engine. It seems in great shape.......it would be good to put it on an engine stand, run it with significant time to test and tweak it until you have it right and can trust it. This would allow you to learn about it, get some specs on hp and compressions, etc. If problems are apparant, then rebuild............. If not, install and fly it :) Thanks, Pat On Mon, Jul 21, 2014 at 7:50 AM, Bill Bradburry wrote: > There is a 20B with turbo for sale on barnstormers.
