AM eng. start seems normal, had what sounded like good compression ( when car came to my shop eng. spun over like no plugs were installed )  will let sit outside overnight, temps have been around 34F at night, restart next AM.  So right now eng. has real oil 10w30w & two cyc. in fuel 1/2 to 1 ratio.  Lynn if you are following, I need your input about factory request for 5w20w semi-synth. oil usage, should I instruct cust. to go back to fact. recommendations,  still need to ask him what oil he has been using, car has 130,000 miles ( no air time )  ( yet )  David R. Cook  RV6A Rotary ( sun is out right now maybe get an hr. air-time this evening ).

Ok, eng. now runs,  EFI disabled, coils disabled,  2cyc. oil added to fuel tank 1/2 to1 ,  used the ATF-acetone mixture 50/50, aprox. 4oz. of each ( shaken-not stirred ) poured into lower intake while cranking, through two vac. ports that had plugs over them/unused one for each rotor,  added 12" hoses & small funnels,  & had plugs removed for cleaning, cranked eng.,  let sit 1hr.  cranked eng. every 1/2 hr. for most of the day, then added one oz. real motor oil, cranked eng., cleaned plug hole area of flammable debris, installed plugs, EFI enabled, switched charger to 100A eng. start mode, after three tries started & ran on it's own, instant IFR inside shop even with overhead doors open, reached op. temp. shutdown, hoist & drain oil ( cust. had full syn. oil in crankcase ) add real oil, run & drain oil again, change filter, 5:45pm time to go home, feed & let the dogs outside. Cont. tomorrow. Cust was told will need new eng. We'll see, not done yet. Total time so far= aprox. 3 hrs.              David R. Cook  RV6A Rotary.

If it is going to need to pass emissions you might want to bypass the reactor for these "Repairs"...................On the other hand you might try a nice gentle push start. Spin it up in 2nd gear. If you get it running get it up to normal temps and slowly pour in about a pop cans worth of plain old tap water into the throttle body. This will take all of the carbon off of the rotors. Add some 2 cycle oil to the fuel tank and make sure the OMP is working. This is what happens when you burn multigrade  dino oil in a rotary.

One pop can for each housing for carbed engines. Same for piston engines before an overhaul. Ends all of the scraping and wire brushing.
Do this outside with an old towel over the tail pipe. A ghastly load of crap comes out of old engines cleaned this way. This stuff stains and will not wipe off of anything.
